IVCC's new Basic Renewable Wind Energy Technician Certificate program

Beginning this fall, IVCC will offer a 1-year certificate program to train technicians to repair and service wind turbines, of which there are more than 500 within the IVCC district with plans to build approximately 300 more. Dr. Novak said enrollment for this fall's first classes is full. Interesting fact: at some point in their studies, students must pass a physical exam and demonstrate they can climb to the top of a wind turbine carrying a 200-pound load.
