HyVee's expansion is getting ready to start and should take the next 12-14 months to finish. Every department is expanding and there will be a lot more customer space. There is 18,000 sf added with the first phase being the liquor portion of the store becoming one third larger than its current size. The second phase will be the pharmacy moving to the front of the store with a new drive up. Phase three is the frozen food section becoming two times its current size. With the expansion all new efficient equipment will be installed including new ovens to make new breads in the bakery section.  

Peru HyVee first opened in August 1999 and currently has 380 employees and with the new addition 50 more jobs will be added.

HyVee was founded in Iowa in the 1930's. The company is 85 years old and currently has 233 stores and 65 thousand employees. It is the largest employer in Iowa.
