Mr. Wrobeski spoke to our rotary group on October 12th about the pipe organ located in Mattiessen Auditorium at LaSalle Peru High School. Today the organ is estimated to be valued at more than $1 million. It was custome built in 1929 by Aeolian Co., which at the time was one of the largest manufacturers of musical instruments.
The organ was donated to the school by Edna Mattiessen, who also donated the majority of the original $600,000 construction cost for the auditorium at the high school.
The organ is currently out of commission do to a storm last year. Mr Wrobleski and his staff are looking at options to repair the pipe organ.
