malooleyDeputy Sheriff Felecia Rasmussen and Bev Malooley

Deputy Rasmussen came and spoke to our rotary group about the XMAS 4 KIDS program.
Deputy Rasmussen says every year they try to give back to the community by sponsoring a kids program called XMAS 4 KIDS where each child they sponsor gets to go shopping at the local Walmart with a uniformed Sheriff's Deputy. Before they are taken shopping the Deputy's contact the parents to find out what the children are in need of like a coat, boots, gloves, basic clothing. The children are then told that these items need to be purchased first and then allowed to buy what they want with the remaining money. In the past, children have bought anything from bicycles, video games, CD's, DVD's, and many more things.

This year LaSalle County's Sheriff's Office would like to be able to reach out to more families in LaSalle County and need your help. This year in an attempt to raise money they are planning on having an auction at the Utica Burgoo Festival in October. The Sheriff's office is asking for any items that you feel would be auction worthy to include gifts and or gift certificates that you feel people would be willing to bid on. Without help from our community this program will not be possible.

These donations are used for the sole purpose of the XMAS 4 KIDS program. The goal is to make the holiday season more joyous for children less fortunate.
