Peru Rotary was privileged to a program from Melissa Sabotta of the Make-A-Wish organization. Melissa is a Make-A-Wish Child "all grown up" as they say.
Melissa's inspiring story brought deeper meaning to the concept of granting wishes to children that face a life threatening situation. She survived bone cancer and other significant challenges in her life. She went on to become a spokesperson for Make-A-Wish. Melissa is now the proud mother of 2 and was recently recognized in Chicago at the Make-A-Wish anniversary gala. She was recognized as a Leader in Joy. The Foundations IL Chapter has granted over 10,000 wishes since it began in 1985. Read more here http://wishes.org/news-story.cfm?id=126
