melissamarkPeru Rotary was privileged to a program from Melissa Sabotta of the Make-A-Wish organization.  Melissa is a Make-A-Wish Child "all grown up" as they say.
Melissa's inspiring story brought deeper meaning to the concept of granting wishes to children that face a life threatening situation.  She survived bone cancer and other significant challenges in her life.  She went on to become a spokesperson for Make-A-Wish.  Melissa is now the proud mother of 2 and was recently recognized in Chicago at the Make-A-Wish anniversary gala.  She was recognized as a Leader in Joy.  The Foundations IL Chapter has granted over 10,000 wishes since it began in 1985.  Read more here
