specialolympicsSpecial Guests: from right to left, Cheryl Switek (Mom) and Jessica Switek (Daughter) accompanied Cheryl DePaepe (Special Olympics Area Director) for our Rotary program.
The local, Starved Rock Area Special Olympics, agency supports 7 counties and more than 570 athletes.  Jessica has been competing for years and is very proud of her accomplishments.  She received presentation and communication training and is now a Global Messenger.  Jessica did a wonderful job with her speech as everyone listened with anticipation.  Her mom, Cheryl, shared that Special Olympics has had an immeasurable, positive affect on Jessica's life.  As a Rotary group, we look forward to growing our volunteer support for the events.
