montiroelifPeru Rotarians were invited to a tour of Mid-America Growers in Granville.

Mid-America Growers has 72 acres under glass, plastic, or other type of covering.  Employees move around the complex in golf carts or on bicycles.  The company will ship 1 million poinsettias this Christmas season.  Walmart is a big customer.  If Mid-America Growers was a town, it would be the third largest in Putnam County in terms of population.  Monte, our guide, sent every Rotarian home with an orchid and instructions to feed it three ice cubes per week.
